1. What is the difference between the Gator Experience Record and an academic transcript?

The academic transcript serves as the official academic record for degree verification, graduate school applications and other institutional purposes focusing on coursework, grades received, GPA, and degree(s) earned, while the Gator Experience Record provides a holistic view of student learning emphasizing co-curricular activities, experiential learning, and the skills/competencies gained through those experiences.

2. How can students access their Gator Experience Record?

Students can access their Gator Experience Record through Parchment. Parchment is a leading digital credential platform used by colleges and universities to securely issue and share academic records and learner credentials. The record is updated regularly, after each term, based on verified activities and achievements. For issues accessing your Parchment account please contact the Office of the University Registrar at help@registrar.ufl.edu.

3. How do students add experiences to their Gator Experience Record?

Approved activities are added once they are verified by UF’s Division of Student Life for Co-curricular experiences and the Office of the University Registrar for curricular experiences after each term. Students can view their record and ensure its accuracy through Parchment.

If students have additional activities they would like displayed on the Gator Experience Record, they can submit a request using the Missing Experience Submission Form. Only activities completed from Summer 2025 onward that can be verified and validated are eligible to be displayed on the Gator Experience Record.

4. How often will the Gator Experience Record be updated?

The record will be updated three times each year, once after each academic term. Updates will occur approximately 4–8 weeks after final grades are due and will include data from the prior term.

5. Can employers expect that the Gator Experience Record contents have been verified?

Yes, the Gator Experience Record is a verified document, which ensures that UF has authenticated all listed experiences and skills.

6. What types of experiences are included in the Gator Experience Record?

Experiences include verified curricular and co-curricular experiential learning activities.

No, students can access and share their Gator Experience Record at no additional cost.

8. Can students customize or add personal experiences to the Gator Experience Record?

Only verified activities approved by UF are included in the Gator Experience Record. If students have additional activities they would like displayed on the Gator Experience Record, they can submit a request using the Missing Experience Submission Form. Only activities that were completed from Summer 2025 onward that can be verified and validated are eligible to be displayed on the Gator Experience Record.

9. How does the Gator Experience Record benefit graduate applications and job searches?

10. Who verifies the activities and experiences listed in the Gator Experience Record?

The UF Division of Student Life and Enrollment Management teams, along with other approved departments, are responsible for verifying and updating the activities included in the Gator Experience Record. The UF Division of Student Life team consults regularly with campus partners, including unit leads for curricular and co-curricular experiential learning activities, to add additional verified and validated experiences to the Gator Experience Record.
